Helps clinicians apply the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for the management of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).

Displays risk zone, intensive phototherapy guidelines, and risk factors based on the newborns age and total serum bilirubin level. With Jaundice on your iPhone or iPod touch, you wont need to carry around the AAP (Bhutani) diagrams or try to eyeball the nomogram readings.

Supports US and SI units (mg/dL and µmol/L). Allows direct age input and includes the option to calculate age from birth and blood sample times.

Intended for use by pediatricians, neonatologists, physicians, and nurses who treat newborn infants in the hospital and as outpatients.

Pros and cons of Jaundice app for iPhone and iPad

Jaundice app good for

I have been waiting for this app! I can finally truly retire my old Palm now. I no longer have to "guesstimate" levels on the nomogram. Now I can be certain of exactly where a babys bili falls for age. Very easy to use and VERY helpful foe this pediatrician!
It works as billed. I used to use a pdf of the bili nomogram to determine risk/treatment levels. This is more straightforward and quicker to use. I also like the way it calculates the age in hours...not the most difficult calculation but just one less thing to do. Thank you
Well worth $4.99. I am a pediatric hospitalist and use this application all the time. I get calls from the hospital with bilirubin levels and I am able to quickly plot them out and find out where they fall on both the nomogram and the treatment chart.
Awesome application. Well worth the money just for calculating the babys age at the time of the blood draw. The only future enhancement would be to show the result on the phototherapy nomogram to match what we are used to doing/visualizing on paper. Of course, if there were some way to also see the plotted values for the 2 prior days, etc. that would earn it 10 stars. Great job, as is. Jon
This is my #1 favorite app!! It could be made better if you could input gestational age.
I am a NICU nurse and love this app. It saves you from having to calculate the age of the infant. I wish I could get this app for my droid in the market.

Some bad moments

My daughter is 8 days or 192 hours and the ap doesnt work for her. Not helpful at all.
I have used this app for 3+ years now & love it, but the new update miscalculates the bili perameters & I have had to go back to the old paper nomograms, please correct this asap!!
